Egypt to Begin Vaccine Supply to African Nations Within 2 Months - (Bloomberg via NewsPoints Desk)

  • Egypt’s Health Minister Hala Zayed on Thursday said the country will start shipping locally-made COVID-19 vaccines to other African nations in the next month and a half, Bloomberg reported.

  • Egypt is seeking to become a hub for vaccine exports, with local company Vacsera this year starting to produce Sinovac using materials sent from China.

  • Zayed said authorities were in talks with Moderna to produce its vaccine locally and plan to begin negotiations with BioNTech.
