German Health Minister Jens Spahn announced measures on Friday to increase the effectiveness of the country's vaccination programme against an expected wave of the Delta variant of COVID-19, as reported London South East.
Spahn said it would be possible in the future to combine a first dose of AstraZeneca's vaccine with a
second dose of an mRNA vaccine like those from BioNTech/Pfizer or Moderna.
He said that the addition of the mRNA dose provided more protection against the Delta variant.
