Germany alters vaccine mix to better tackle Delta variant - (London South East via NewsPoints Desk)

  • German Health Minister Jens Spahn announced measures on Friday to increase the effectiveness of the country's vaccination programme against an expected wave of the Delta variant of COVID-19, as reported London South East.

  • Spahn said it would be possible in the future to combine a first dose of AstraZeneca's vaccine with a
    second dose of an mRNA vaccine like those from BioNTech/Pfizer or Moderna.

  • He said that the addition of the mRNA dose provided more protection against the Delta variant.
