  • Morocco expects new batches of COVID-19 vaccines to arrive from Russia, South Korea and China soon, allowing it to continue its immunisation rollout despite a pause in exports from India, according to health ministry sources, as reported in This is Money.

  • The country has already received 8.5 million doses of AstraZeneca’s vaccine, made in India, and China’s Sinopharm vaccine.

  • Health ministry scientific committee member Said Afif said it expects 4.2 million more doses soon. This includes 2 million more Sinopharm doses, 1 million of Russia's Sputnik V shot and another 1.2 million AstraZeneca doses made in South Korea and bought through the Covax vaccine-sharing scheme, he added.

  • India has put a temporary hold on all major exports of AstraZeneca’s vaccine produced by the Serum Institute of India to meet domestic demand as infections rise.

  • A health ministry source said the shipments are expected in the coming days.
