The prime minister of Morocco says the country has placed orders for two COVID-19 vaccines that are currently in late-stage testing and is also in talks with other developers, as reported in This is Money.
Morocco expects a vaccine developed by Sinopharm to be approved first and plans to start rolling it out next month, said Saad Eddine El Otmani.
It has also placed an order with AstraZeneca, which is conducting Phase III trials, and is in talks with Pfizer, which recently reported strong interim Phase III results.
"We will seek doses from three to four companies," El Otmani said, adding that "the vaccination campaign will last at least three months."
