  • The prime minister of Morocco says the country has placed orders for two COVID-19 vaccines that are currently in late-stage testing and is also in talks with other developers, as reported in This is Money.

  • Morocco expects a vaccine developed by Sinopharm to be approved first and plans to start rolling it out next month, said Saad Eddine El Otmani.

  • It has also placed an order with AstraZeneca, which is conducting Phase III trials, and is in talks with Pfizer, which recently reported strong interim Phase III results.

  • "We will seek doses from three to four companies," El Otmani said, adding that "the vaccination campaign will last at least three months."
